2018 represents a pivotal moment for China's economic transformation to high-quality development. It also serves as a turning point for the development of the cultural tourism industry as the Ministry of Culture and China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) merged into a newly created Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

While the merger offers great opportunities to further explore destinations that are steeped in culture and history, the transition of the travel market from sightseeing to leisure and holiday-making reflects the aspirations of the Chinese people to live a better life. However, despite that the fact integration of culture and tourism has become a trend, there are still a lot of obstacles and challenges to be overcome in this industry to fit the needs of reality. To be precise, how to make rational and wise investments, how to innovate products and make all the difference, how to facilitate the integration of culture and tourism without isolating one from the other, which are all issues that practitioners need to confront head-on.  

To cope with challenges ahead and grasp potential opportunities, The Third Travel Consumption Innovation Summit is set to run from 7 June to 8 June 2018 at Beijing Wanda Vista Hotel. Themed with "Stay with Trends and Brace for Change", the two-day conference covers a great variety of subjects, from poor alleviation through tourism, innovation on destination Investments & operations, how to innovate destination products&marketing, to innovation on cultural communication and integration, providing an internal logic in how China's cultural tourism industry is going to evolve. To achieve this goal, we have invited guests from operating and investment institutes, culture and tourism authorities, industry experts and scholars as well as entrepreneurs to attend and share their insights and stories about this booming market. We are convinced that this conference will allow attendees keep abreast of the latest development and trends of the cultural tourism industry in China.

There are three highlights of this conference. First of all, two most popular cultural tourism cases are handpicked and will be elaborated on and interpreted by the creators (or developers) and related industry experts. Secondly, Tripvivid's subsidiary TECSO Travel Academy will release 2018 China Cultural Tourism Investment Report, which will extensively explore investment opportunities and predict trends in this industry. Lastly, travel innovator presentations and Closed Session Meeting will take place at the end of each day. Innovators will be given opportunities to present their products and innovation projects in front of a panel of judges, while research institutes, investment funds, online travel companies, cultural tourism groups, destination operators and real estate giants are invited to participate in the closed session meeting.
